solving 3rd order equations

Can someone help me with my assignment queries? Most of them are based on solving 3rd order equations. I have read a few articles on function definition and ratios but that didn’t really help me in solving the questions on my homework. I didn’t sleep last night since I have a deadline to meet. But the problem is no matter how much time I invest, I just don’t seem to be getting the hang of it. Every question poses a new challenge, one which seems to be tougher than conquering Mt.Everest! I need some help as soon as possible. Somebody please guide me.

Thanks for the detailed information, this seems awesome. I wished for something exactly like Algebra Professor, because I don't want a program which only solves the exercise and gives the final result, I want something that can really explain me how the exercise needs to be solved. That way I can understand it and after that solve it on my own, not just copy the answers. Where can I find the program?
